Unfortunately, some of FUM’s business email accounts were compromised on September 2, and some spam messages were sent out recently from our FUM address. Nothing included in the email originates from Friends United Meeting, and we strongly urge you to delete the email without opening any of the attachments. If you did open the attachment, run your virus scan software, and take any recommended actions. We’ve taken immediate steps to secure our account and sincerely apologize for any concerns this may have caused.

Kira Young to be Manager of Financial Services

We are pleased to announce that Kira Young has joined the FUM team as our Manager of Financial Services at the Richmond office. She started her work on August 19th, and is being trained by Barbara Smith, our outgoing Financial Manager.

A New Principal for Belize Friends School

After seventeen years with Belize Friends School, Candi Young left her position as Principal at the end of the last academic year, and Liz Ayuso, Clerk of the School Board, has announced that the Board has hired Frank Tench as the next Principal.

Tickets Bought—Nikki Holland Begins Service in Belize

We are so happy to announce that Nikki Holland and her family are going to Belize on time, because of the incredible generosity of so many of you! Over the last few weeks and months, you have responded to the clear evidence of God’s anointing in Nikki’s life, and together we have met the fundraising goal that will allow her to begin her ministry in Belize on schedule.

Thirty Days of Prayer - Day Three

Job 24:13 There are those who rebel against the light, who are not acquainted with its ways, and do not abide in its paths. This scripture comes from Job as he complains about the violence on the earth. Most, if not all, of us complain about the violence on the earth, too. As we read Jesus’ words about being peacemakers, we Friends take them seriously. If we believe in the peace testimony, we seek ways to accomplish peace in all circumstances. To do that, we must abide with God to know how to handle situations where violence, in word or action, attacks the souls of its victims.
