Turkana Friends Mission Fiftieth Anniversary

July 8 – July 12

Turkana Friends Mission was founded in 1970 through the visionary work of Kenyan Friends reaching out to this pastoralist community living in a severe desert climate. This excursion will celebrate fifty years of God’s work through Friends in Turkana County. Tour the regions of the mission to learn about its work in evangelism, education, water, economic development, and caring for refugees. Attend the celebration of the mission anniversary.

The roads are rough and the climate is hot, participants should be sure they are in suitable health for the conditions.

Participants will depart from the Triennial venue in Nakuru after lunch on Saturday, July 8, spend the night in Eldoret, and attend worship at a Friends church in Eldoret on July 9 before flying to Lodwar. The trip will end on July 12 with transportation to Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon. The earliest that you should plan to fly out of Nairobi is on a lateevening flight on July 12.
