Last week, the e-news reminded readers of the leadership changes in Belize as Oscar Mmbali is now serving as the Director of Friends United Meeting–Belize.During the General Board sessions, the Belize team reported on the activities of the school, church, and center. New to the team was a report from Miriam Mmbali, who is expanding her role with FUM. Last year Miriam started an outreach ministry for young families in the community. This includes providing food for vulnerable families and offering support for parents, and young mothers. Additionally, Miriam oversees a growing Sunday School, which frequently has twenty to twenty-five children in attendance. She reported that it is her prayer that every child in her class is seen and feels loved. Additionally, she is training new teachers to expand the program.In the coming weeks, FUM is renewing the Mmbalis’ contract, which will include Oscar’s continued service and Miriam’s growing role. During the next few weeks, Friends will receive more information about how to renew their ongoing support for the Mmbalis’ ministry. Those who currently support their ministry are encouraged to continue uninterrupted support.
