Thirty Days of Prayer - Day Nineteen

The triennial theme is so relevant and captivating, “Come, Abide, Go”. These are words of Jesus Christ in the spirit of Gathering a special Community from ordinary people, Building and establishing them in the faith, and Releasing them in the world for Ministry work.

Looking at Quakermen theme text, it paints a picture on how God is so committed and ready to partner with men in his ministry. The scriptures are so explicit that immediately Jesus begun his ministry he invited men to follow him “Come, follow me,” and “I will make you fishers of men.” (Matt. 4:19).

Come follow me, receive my doctrines, imitate me in my conduct - in every respect be my disciples. To follow Christ, and be admitted into a partnership of his ministry, is a great honor. Paul in his writings to church of Corinth he said “Brothers, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth. But God chose the foolish   things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. He chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not —to nullify the things that are, so that no one may boast before him. (1Cor. 1:27).

Friends, it is by the grace of God we are who we are today let us come closer to God, be willing to be taught by him and be the doers of his word. Because its by the mercy of we are not consumed. Indeed, God is gathering a community of men worldwide that should hear, internalize his Word and subsequently teach his doctrine, a community that should be witnesses of his miracles and wonderful deeds, hence testify in both word and deed about them.

The choice of the sea of Galilee is a demonstration that Christ came for all and everyone has the spirit of God in them and the ability to serve him. Its only about our obedience to follow Christ and he will make us to be vessels of honor and partner with him in the ministry. In John 12:25-26 Jesus says that “The man who loves his life will lose it, while the man who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me; and where I am, my servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves me”.

Men let us serve the Lord with everything within us. Men are the Priests, the Providers and Protectors of our families and surroundings. If men live in obedience to the Word and calling of God, the world will change for better and thus fulfilling the vision of God as articulated in (John 3:16). Let us raise up and take our position for the glory of God. Amen.
