Unfortunately, some of FUM’s business email accounts were compromised on September 2, and some spam messages were sent out recently from our FUM address. Nothing included in the email originates from Friends United Meeting, and we strongly urge you to delete the email without opening any of the attachments. If you did open the attachment, run your virus scan software, and take any recommended actions. We’ve taken immediate steps to secure our account and sincerely apologize for any concerns this may have caused.

Connections Goes Digital—Mostly

Connections is now being made available in PDF form, for congregations who are experiencing difficulty with distributing paper copies. If you want to continue to receive Connections in paper form, please let us know at info(at)fun.org.

Pray Without Ceasing

Let us organize to begin this prayer initiative on the week following Easter. May Friends sense God’s loving mercy and the power of God’s “unceasing” presence as we unite in prayer.

2020 Triennial Postponed

We are committed to carrying forward the inspired theme selected for the 2020 Triennial. We affirm the gospel message that Christ Jesus is inviting the community of Friends to Come. Abide. Go. To continue our spiritual readiness, we are inviting the global community of Friends to participate in the 30 Days of Prayer, beginning on Sunday, 12 July 2020 (the day the Triennial was scheduled to begin). The prayer guides prepared for the Triennial will be released by June.

Thirty Days of Prayer - Day Three

Job 24:13 There are those who rebel against the light, who are not acquainted with its ways, and do not abide in its paths. This scripture comes from Job as he complains about the violence on the earth. Most, if not all, of us complain about the violence on the earth, too. As we read Jesus’ words about being peacemakers, we Friends take them seriously. If we believe in the peace testimony, we seek ways to accomplish peace in all circumstances. To do that, we must abide with God to know how to handle situations where violence, in word or action, attacks the souls of its victims.
