December—FUM African Office Moves to New Location

This past weekend, 6–7 December 2025, marked an important milestone in the history of FUM–Africa. Over the weekend our Africa Ministries Office relocated to Kakamega, Kenya. While this move was made because of a financial necessity to lower operational costs, it provides strategic opportunities for greater connection with the Friends we serve.

For the past twenty-one years, the Reinsurance Plaza in Kisumu has been our administrative home. The office was originally established to serve our project partners and our member Yearly Meetings in Africa. The move to Kakamega brings us much closer to the communities we serve and support.

We are especially grateful to USFW–Kenya, who is leasing space for our office on the bottom floor of their new guesthouse. This partnership offers a cost-effective home for FUM’s African Ministries work while also providing meaningful support to USFW. Our lease will help them move forward with completing construction on the upper floors of the guesthouse, which will eventually serve as an important venue for conferences, gatherings, and other ministry activities.

We look forward to continuing our shared work with renewed focus and commitment to serve Friends across the region.
