We hope that by making the theme of each issue widely known, we will be able to deepen the pool of our contributors, and persuade some reluctant authors to send in a submission—in text, image, or both—by virtue of a powerful experience with our theme for the issue.

Friends Church Peace Team (FCPT), through the international COVID Collaboration fund, donated sanitary towels to teenage girls in an effort to reduce defilement cases associated with poor access to the items. They were able to give a three-month supply of sanitary towels to 115 girls from Kipsigon, Chebyuk, Nomorio, and Tuikut in Mt Elgon.

Having been a photojournalist for most of my life, I usually make pictures to tell a story to others. But over the last couple of years, I’ve realized that some pictures aren’t necessarily meant to tell a story at all—I make them as a spiritual or emotional response to the world around me. The pictures might tell a story to another person, or they may never make it out of my camera. I make them because, before my eyes, something in me recognized and responded to God’s presence.
