Friends United Press Publishes New Book by Marlene Pedigo

Friends United Press is delighted to announce the publication of Simple Joy: Women, Ministry, Friends, by Marlene Pedigo and edited by Linda Selleck.The inspiration for Simple Joy came to Marlene Pedigo while she was a student at McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, uncovering the stories of the New Testament women compelled to travel in Holy Spirit-led ministry and proclaim the Risen Christ, and learning about Friends women ministers.

Cuts in Foreign Aid Affect FUM Projects Abroad

Recent cuts in the U.S. State Department's USAID program have had a direct impact on two substantial ministries of Friends United Meeting: Ramallah Friends School and Lugulu Friends Mission Hospital.

North American Ministries Coordinator Visits Western New York

Last weekend, Friends United Meeting’s North American Ministries Coordinator Michael Sherman answered an invitation to travel among Friends in Western New York. Farmington Friends Meeting, a member of New York Yearly Meeting, holds a Winter Speaker Series and Michael was the guest this past Sunday. He was invited to bring the message during worship and then speak about to FUM’s mission work in Belize, specifically, along with some more general information about connecting with other Friends in North America.

Simplicity & Generosity

The notion that all our resources belong to God is integral to the message of simplicity. Where Roger excelled—and helped me find that missing and liberating element within simplicity—was in generosity. Roger loved to give, and he did so with a spirit of joy and gratitude for being able to partner in God’s work in the world.

Gifted with Happiness

To be honest with you, I still hesitate to talk about my gift of happiness. Some voice is whispering in my ear that to be happy means I'm not carrying my fair share of the load . . .
