Psalm 138

Green wave w/o caption

In youth I listened to

the ocean’s voice

ignorant of the wave’s intent.

Now I know Your words

reside in the waters,

those of the deep and

those on the surface.

The swelling sea

is my bosom

friend, the source of my life,

sustainer of my future.

Hear us sing in homage

to the pure oneness

of eternal spirit.

Should we grow tempestuous,

remind us of the calm with which

we move

when yielding to Your love.

  1. Thank you for sharing that experience, Mary Lou. It reminds me of a song I used to hear in my youth, “Peace Be Still.”

  2. I know what you mean! I was on a cruise when a storm passed though and people were sick but I felt and slept like a baby rocking in my mother’s arms so warm & safe!
